Ys (イース国; pronounced /ˈiːs/ EESS) is an isolationist principality on the "northern frontier", surrounded by ocean. It has a history of shipbuilding and seafaring, and one of the strongest navies in the known world[1], which also happens to be the front-line force of the Holy See Alliance Navy. The island is ruled by the Staufen dynasty, of which Roderick is a member and third in line to the nation's throne.
