Hi there. We can talk about Berserk here. Alternatively, and in case you wish to use Spanish, kindly visit my Berserk Wiki in Spanish wall. (Speaking of which, said wiki is always happy to see new editors.)
In order to source anything, one needs to back up any given claim on the matter by stating where exactly (e.g. manga episodes) one can see what you're saying, no matter how obvious it may be. For example, when sourcing the Holy See article, I couldn't find anything that explicitly stated that the Pontiff was its leader :P
It also involves having a rough knowledge of where to find what you're looking for in order to minimise media juggling. Plus that one page can always slip through the cracks!
I will add this "commander" conversation to this conversation too; There you said about only manga being source when actually there are also anime, movie and games. Latest game has a lot things to confirm you have been worried if they are right. Judeau is a commander to his own unit (he has even an item named "Commander of a Thousand") and in that game's wiki (https://koei.fandom.com/wiki/Judeau) there is a funny sentence: "Like Casca and the others, he is inspired by Griffith to join the Band of the Hawk as the commander to his own unit." As I said earlier everyone who was in that royal party is in a higher ranks (not sure about Rickert since he is a child, but not even impossible since Griffith has a certain sense of humor) and they are also in the important planning conversations with Griffith, they are clearly in higher ranks and it is clear that Casca and Guts are not only commanders. If you are so worried bout these things I recommend you to start reading, watching and playing since you can't believe common sense that tells throughout the story that Judeau is clearly a commander only with how you see him positioned in the story situations and with common knowledge of rankings and positions in these kind of things you can understand he is a commander. Latest confirmation is this latest game "BERSERK and the Band of the Hawk" where they have clearly written these things and it has gone through Miura's confirmation so it is very good source nowadays if you are worried about these things that are clear with just understanding what happens in Berserk and how Judeau is presented in it =) And to add that "two swords" conversation; they aren't just for show, they are his weapons he uses since we can see him having them in many pictures and sources, even if it wouldn't have been showed (but it has been shown) in the manga or anime, movie or game that he uses them, they are his used weapons, it isn't for a decoration. Have a good day and I hope you think these things through and understand these things since you like to edit wiki so much!
As you can read in the Style Guide, wiki articles cover elements that can be sourced by referencing manga episodes in which said elements appear. It makes sense, as manga is the canon product. That's why a line from the manga in which x (e.g. whether Casca and co. are commanders) is stated is needed to back up or refuse a claim. Of course, one has to be aware that Dark Horse translations might have not conveyed it properly.
Anything else (such as elements from the video games) that diverges from the manga will go in the "Notes" part. For example, the official guidebook does refer to Judeau, Pippin, Casca and Corkus as unit commanders, but nothing is said about Rickert. Speaking of games, I've never read anything about Miura being involved in the musou game. Now, since this wiki considers Sword of the Berserk (a game that was written and designed by Miura with its original name explicitly including it as a chapter in the Millennium Falcon arc) as non-canon, it's a moot point.
I do not wish to engage in edit wars, especially when the rules that deal with sourcing any given claim are clear.
Since Fandom allows you to edit everywhere with a single account, I try to do valuable edits whenever I land on a given wiki. It doesn't matter if we're talking about a typo or adding better images.
I am sure there are people who are more of a fan (or more knowledgeable about Berserk: I do need to reread certain parts of the manga!) than I am, but I might seem better by comparison if they don't edit :P Some people often take this wiki as a cesspool of poo, so I try to source articles and help people if I can.
Actually I watched Berserk anime series, 3 expisodes of Berserk golden arc years ago, now I am reading manga, I want to this manga to finish and then I will start reading it but I can wait so I read it to understand more about Berserk. I go to this fandom to read about some characters and I see you over many comment sections, and I like your understanding about Berserk, and I like you =)
I dont care about whatever old age says => i'm male and from Vietnam btw kakaakaka
you quite active on night time in my timezone so I guess you from western or something kakaakka
Good day, keeep up your good job, omg I talk that much ><
You're welcome. Though I knew of it already, I became acquainted with Berserk because I am a Susumu Hirasawa fan. A pal linked me to the PS2 game intro, I became curious, I landed on websites like this wiki... and here I am, sharing and correcting information after gathering some of my own. I am glad you find it useful.
I don't know if there's a Vietnamese manga printed version or whether you can easily buy the Dark Horse one, but let's say there are websites in which you can read the Dark Horse version online. Though I largely own the physical manga, I like to use an online version for quick searches.
Since the manga won't end anytime soon, I reccomend reading and re-reading it. You will find a lot of details you hand't noticed the first time!
Haha what a coincidence! i watched berserk because I love Susumu's music too, this is after I view Forces MV on youtube I like it at the first sound 😃, other songs in Paprika that i like
There is no Vietnamese printed managa avaiable but some manga sites in my country translate it, and Berserk's quite popular with more than 4 millions views. and there is a fanpage on facebook.
I first watched Perfect Blue during an early Sunday morning. I had previously done it with Akira and felt that it would suit the mood. I was right. I really liked how it played with the viewer almost until the end (for me, I noticed "it" when Mima sees the fish tank).
As for Paprika, it's a film I really like. It was a personal revelation. After reading the book it's based in, I can say I consider the film as better than the book, especially as it compresses some stuff. Perhaps too much. I have read there are a couple of mangas based on Paprika, but I haven never come across them online.
I really enjoy those type of manga/anime, although they're alittle bit dark, blood, adult, abstract but if we think deeply, they really reflect the world we live with many dark sides, the way we think, what we desire, realed to psychological matters ( I had some troubles transmit my thought :) ). sadly nowaday those type are gradually replaced by other teen oriented type of manga/anime...
Yeah, I know what you mean. Though I prefer fantastic environments, which is why I was attracted to Berserk. When I first watched that PS2 intro, I wondered who the God Hand members (well, I didn't know their name back then) were. Thus, my first Berserk anime experience was that of the 1997 anime Eclipse without knowing how important it was XD
It's not about acting "as I wish", but complying with the rules each wiki has. This wiki is making huge efforts to be seen as a reliable source about all things Berserk, so sticking to such rule is a fully understandable move, even if I may not agree with it.
