Irvine is an Apostle who serves the reborn Griffith alongside Zodd, Locus, Grunbeld, and the other lesser known Apostles.

Physically speaking, Irvine looks like an average human, although a bit slender. The most noticeable feature about Irvine is that his eyes are completely white, and have no cornea or irises.

Little else is known about the man known as Irvine, but what is known from passing is that he rarely speaks and keeps his own counsel. During those rare moments when the new Band of the Hawk is not caught up in a battle and away from the army, Irvine is often by himself enjoying the tunes from his Lute. Since Irvine almost never speaks, it is unknown how he became an Apostle, but there is no doubt the power he possesses is anything less then divine, be it good or evil, intervention.

Unlike his peers Zodd, Locus, and Grunbeld, Irvine excels in the art of ranged combat. As such, Irvine is not dressed or armored like his peers. His unnatural deadliness with his bow has thus far prevented any melee attacker from getting close enough to him to attempt to even carry out an attack. It is uncertain if it is him or his bow that gives him such a great power, as the bow has a great eye embedded in the central curvature of the bow, seemingly granting the bow a sentience of its own. Even if the bow has sentience, it can be further questioned if it would permit anyone it did not deem worthy of stringing the bow.

Regardless of the conjecture, Irvine's arrows are fast, powerful, and lethal. At the Battle of Vritanis, Irvine easily outdistances himself from the Kushan advance. Even at such an extreme range though, Irvine is capable of firing multitudes of arrows at once, everyone of which strikes its mark; the arrows behead their targets or cause enough physical damage that the victims die almost instantly. It is not certain if Irvine's arrows are magically enhanced so that they do not lose speed or power behind each firing, or that the power behind each arrow is so great that even with gravity or air resistance the arrow is still powerful enough to instantly kill their targets.
